With love everything can be accomplished, as Andrea has shown. If you believe in something, you should not give up just because someone tells you there is no hope. Benji is one of the many dogs abandoned by their owners because they no longer know what to do with them.
He was found in a pitiful state, he was unrecognizable, had mange, fleas and was suffering from several diseases that if not treated in time would surely lead to his death. Andrea after finding him decided to take him to the veterinarian who, given his poor condition, could do nothing but advise him, albeit reluctantly, to put him down to prevent further suffering.
Andrea, however, disagreed and armed with a lot of patience decided to contact some experts, who advised him on the path to take, which would be long and challenging for both of them.
Benji was suffering terribly both inside and out, he seemed resigned, not fighting…perhaps waiting for death. But Andrea knew in his heart that as long as there was hope, one had to fight.
Day after day, thanks to expensive antibiotic treatment, Benji’s condition seemed, albeit slowly, to improve. The dog alternates between good days and others when he seems unresponsive, perhaps because of the drugs…. But after three months, the long-awaited miracle happens.
Benji wakes up full of joy and with so much desire to run and play, he looks like a totally different dog, even his appearance has literally changed. Thanks to Andrea Benji got a second life and we hope this story can teach that miracles exist, never give up.
